FAQ
This page explains the main features of Wareed Masr in a question-and-answer format, helping donors and blood requesters use the site easily and with privacy.
What is the idea behind Wareed Masr?
Wareed Masr is a blood donation coordination platform in Egypt. It helps blood requesters publish their requests, and helps donors appear to those who need them while controlling privacy and contact methods.
How do I register as a donor?
Click Create Account, then enter your basic details such as name, email, phone number, blood type, governorate, and city. You can optionally add a profile photo and choose your preferred contact methods from the beginning.
When will my name appear in donor search?
Your name appears after completing registration, provided that your status is available and you are not temporarily hidden or within the waiting period after your latest donation.
How can I hide myself at certain times?
From My Account, then Availability, you can stop your profile from appearing on the site until a date you choose. After that date, you can appear again, or click Show Again if you want to return earlier and there is no timing restriction.
What happens after I donate?
After donating, go to My Account, then Latest Donation, and record the date of your latest donation. If 90 days have not passed, your name will be hidden from search results until the period ends. If more than 90 days have passed, you will appear as available to donate now.
How can I hide my phone number and choose site messages only?
From My Account, then Privacy, remove phone calls, WhatsApp, and email if you want, and keep site messages only. Any contact method you do not choose will not appear to visitors.
Can I use WhatsApp without showing my phone number?
Yes. From Privacy, you can add a WhatsApp username or link if you have one. This allows people to contact you on WhatsApp without relying on your phone number.
How do I contact a donor?
Go to Donor Search, choose the suitable blood type and location, then use the available icons under the donor’s name, such as WhatsApp, phone, email, or site messages, depending on what the donor has chosen.
How do I save a donor to return to later?
From the donor card, click the save icon. You will find saved donors inside My Account, then Saved. If a donor hides their profile, they will not appear in your saved list during the hidden period.
How do I create a blood request?
From the homepage, click Create Blood Request, or from the Blood Requests page, click Create New Request. Enter the blood type, governorate, city, hospital, priority level, short message, then choose the contact methods for that request.
How do I close a blood request after finding a donor?
From My Account, then My Requests, mark the request as completed after finding a donor. Completed requests disappear from public pages so people do not keep contacting you after the need has ended.
When will I receive notifications?
Notifications appear inside My Account when there is a nearby request, a new contact request, a new reply inside site messages, or a reminder for the blood requester. If you install the site as an app and allow notifications, notifications may reach your phone directly.
How do I install the site as an app on my phone?
Click Install App at the top of the page if the button appears. If the installation prompt does not appear, open your browser menu and choose Add to Home Screen or Install App.
What is the benefit of site messages?
Site messages allow communication without revealing your phone number or email. A contact request is sent first, and after it is accepted, both parties can reply inside the site.
Can I edit my details and photo?
Yes. From My Account, then Profile, you can edit your name, blood type, location, short bio, profile photo, or delete the photo. From Privacy, you can edit contact methods and visibility settings.
What does the Regular Donor badge mean?
If the admin verifies a member, a verification badge appears next to their name. This means they are a regular donor trusted by the site administration.
Can articles or comments be added?
Yes. Visitors and members can add medical articles or comments on articles, but they will not appear publicly until reviewed by the administration.
How do I report a problem or an abusive account?
From the donor card or available report locations, you can send a report to the administration. The administration reviews the report and may save it with a note or take suitable action.
What should I do if I do not receive the verification email or forget my password?
Check your spam folder first. You can request the verification email again from the email verification page, or use Forgot Password from the login page. If the problem continues, use Contact Us.
How do I contact the site administration?
From the bottom of the site, click Contact Us, then write your name, email, and message. You can also use the social media links available on the Contact Us page or at the bottom of the site if enabled by the administration.
The site helps with coordination and reaching potential donors, but donor acceptance, final compatibility, and donation safety remain the responsibility of the hospital, blood bank, and qualified medical authorities.
